Christopher (Chris) Parvin is Board Certified in Estate Planning & Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Today, only approximately 1% of Texas attorneys have earned certification in this field. Chris is licensed to practice law in every court in the State of Texas and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. Chris was named a “Rising Star” in Estate Planning and Probate Law in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 by Super Lawyers® a designation awarded by Thomson Reuters through an extensive blue ribbon panel system that rates outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of recognition and professional achievement. While up to 5% of the lawyers in a state are named to Super Lawyers, no more than 2.5% are Rising Stars. After earning a law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, Chris continued his education and earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. He qualified for membership in the College of the State Bar of Texas, an honorary organization for the most highly trained lawyers in Texas. Chris’ law practice is focused on helping Texas families with legal issues related to estate planning and special needs planning and trusts in order to ensure their wealth and rights are safeguarded from generation to generation. Chris is not just a transactional lawyer; he is also a seasoned litigator who has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in trial in Probate Court, County Courts, State District Court and Federal District Court. He has successfully tried cases to verdict (including jury trials) obtained summary judgments and negotiated pre-litigation settlements. A native of Texas, Chris has also distinguished himself as a local community leader. Since 2009, he has served as an elected City Councilman in Cedar Hill, Texas, the community where his family has lived since 1867. Chris served as a Dallas County Truancy Court Magistrate and previously was a part-time Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Northwood University. Currently, in addition to his law practice, Chris serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Texas A & M University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas where he teaches in the Estates and Wills Law Clinic program. Chris is extensively involved in charitable giving and civic engagement in the Dallas community. He sits on numerous boards in and around North Texas.
